How do I join the American Chemical Society?<\/span><\/summary>

\nYou can join ACS at their website <\/a>.<\/p>\n

Our local section is participating in a membership recruitment campaign that runs from September 1, 2025, through November 15, 2025. We are pleased to partner with ACS to offer you a 30% discount <\/strong>on your upcoming ACS Membership renewal. This discount may be applied to the Standard or Premium package and must be used by November 15, 2025.<\/p>\n

Here is how to redeem your discount:<\/p>\n

  • Visit https:\/\/membership.join.acs.org<\/li>\n
  • You will be prompted to log in using your ACS ID (username\/password). If you don\u2019t have one or forget your login, click the appropriate link on the login page<\/li>\n

    What are the instructions for oral presenters?<\/span><\/summary>

    \nAll presenters will need to bring their own laptops. If you are not able to do so please contact the organizer for your session (their contact information can be found here<\/a>). If you are presenting in a morning session, please arrive 30 minutes before the session is set to begin, to confirm you are able to connect your laptop without issue. If you are presenting in an afternoon session, please plan to meet your session’s presider in your room at 12 pm the day of your presentation. Room locations for each symposium can be found on the detailed schedule here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    What are the instructions for poster presenters?<\/span><\/summary>

    \nIf you are presenting in the lunch hour session, please plan to set-up your poster anytime between 9:00 am – 12:00 pm in Regency Ballroom 2.
    If you are presenting in the evening session, please plan to set-up your poster anytime between 2:30-5:30 pm in Regency Ballroom 2. All posters need to be taken down immediately following the conclusion of the session. <\/strong>
    Please also make sure you set-up your poster, according to your presentation number which can be found on the detailed schedule     here<\/a>.
    Posters for WRM should not exceed the maximum available size which is 4 feet high by 8 feet wide.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div><\/p>\n\n\n

      How do I get there by public transit?<\/span><\/summary>
      \n\n

      From San Jose Airport (SJC):<\/strong>
      Take the VTA Route 60 airport shuttle with bus destination towards “MILPITAS VIA AIRPORT”. This service is free and stops at both Terminals: from Terminal A, wait at Stop 7 of SJC’s Ground Transportation area; from Terminal B, wait at Stop 5. Ride for 5 minutes, then get off at Metro\/Airport station, which is one or two stops depending on which Terminal you boarded from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      At Metro\/Airport station, board the VTA Blue or Green lines toward Downtown San Jose. Ride 5 stops, then get off at Paseo San Antonio. Walk west on Paseo de San Antonio for a block, then turn right on 1st to get to the hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      From East Bay:<\/strong>
      Take BART Red or Orange lines to Berryessa. From there, take the VTA R500 downtown to Santa Clara & 1st. Walk a block and a half south on 1st to get to the hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      From Oakland International Airport (OAK):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Take the BART Beige line that transfers you from the airport to the nearest BART station on the main lines. Get off at Coliseum and make your way down the stairs towards the main platform. Take the Orange line towards Berryessa and stay on the train until you reach the last stop at Berryessa\/North San Jose. Walk about two minutes to the Berryessa Transit Center and get on the 500 Rapid to San Jose – Diridon. Ride for 3 stops and get off at Santa Clara & 1st<\/sup>. By foot, head southwest on E Santa Clara St toward S 1st St. Turn left on S 1st<\/sup> St. Once you pass the Fairmont Plaza, make a right towards S Market St, followed by a left onto S Market St. The Signia by Hilton will be on your left across from the Plaza de Cesar Chavez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      From San Francisco International Airport (SFO):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Take the BART Red line train from the airport to Millbrae (non-stop). Get off BART, and walk across the platform to the Millbrae Caltrain Station Southbound. Get on the Caltrain (San Jose Diridon) and get off at the San Jose Diridon Station. Board the VTA Greenline towards Old Ironsides, ride this for three stops until San Antonio, then walk north on First Street just past Paseo de San Antonio to get to the hotel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
